Jake Hoback named this knife the Sumo because once you see a Sumo up close and in person, it’s not something you’ll soon forget! What makes this knife unforgettable is that it’s a button lock flipper with multiple opening options. You can open it with thumb studs, you can use the miniature hidden flipper tab, and you can also use the pocket on the blade to open this knife. You can also depress the button and swing the blade open with a little wrist action. The goal was to lighten this beast while keeping it amazingly strong, so it is 3D-machined inside and out. This is Jake’s first button lock flipper, and you’d think he’d been doing it all his life. For this second run of the Sumo, Jake added a little “bling” by anodizing the thumb studs, pocket clip, backspacer, AND pivot in Blue, Purple, or Tan – very subtle and muted colors that set off the look of the knife in a way he hasn’t tried before.
