The Wafer Slider is the first product in the 01EDC Food Toy series, limited to 599 pieces worldwide.
This is 01EDC’s first application of ceramic coating technology, enhancing both the appearance and tactile feel of the EDC. By experimenting with variations in coating thickness and track configuration, the design pushes the material and processing boundaries of traditional mechanical sliders. The ceramic-coated track provides a unique tactile sensation, combining firmness and softness, reminiscent of flipping a springy gummy candy.
The track features a new blend of asymmetric paths and dense tinkling grooves. It is finely tuned for optimal feel before shipping, so it’s ready to use straight out of the box.
Visually, the design reflects the charm of wafer cookies. Slim and lightweight, it is easy to carry daily. The 1:1 wafer texture, combined with the ceramic coating, gives it a dessert-like visual appeal. The surface has a slightly sandy texture that mimics the crispiness of a wafer, while producing a clear tinkling sound when pushed.
This item is sold as a blind box. All 599 units come in identical packaging, and the color is revealed only upon opening.
